<p><p>At SMS Equipment, our Technology Solutions Experts are responsible for supporting all aspects of SMS’s machine control systems, including the industry-leading Intelligent Machine Control product line and aftermarket add-on products. This role focuses on advanced troubleshooting, technical support, and promoting technology solutions that drive customer efficiency and precision.</p><p><b>Location :</b> Edmonton AB, Grande Prairie AB, or Fort St. John, BC</p><p><b>Salary :</b> $90,000 - $100,000 and is eligible for incentive.</p><p><b>Work arrangement :</b> Hybrid – flexibility to work from home 2 days a week</p><h3>What You’ll Do</h3><ul><li>Provide expertise in geomatics and machine control, including calibration, system precision, and integration with CAD, GIS, and GPS.</li><li>Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and training to internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve system errors, providing technical service advice to customers, technicians, and OEM representatives.</li><li>Act as liaison between branches, suppliers, and customers to resolve complex technical issues and recommend product improvements.</li><li>Support operations by developing training courses and providing product knowledge feedback.</li><li>Travel within your region to support Smart Construction projects (passport required for U.S. travel).</li></ul><h3>What You Bring</h3><ul><li>Degree or Diploma in Geomatics Technology, Computerized Land Surveying, or GIS; equivalent Heavy Equipment Technician experience with smart equipment will be considered.</li><li>10+ years of industry experience with smart equipment in construction or heavy equipment environments.</li><li>Advanced expertise in GPS machine control systems (Topcon, Trimble, Leica).</li><li>Strong understanding of Total Stations, GPS machine control, and 3D GNSS construction.</li><li>Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure and deliver effective solutions.</li><li>Highly organized, self-disciplined, and solutions-focused, with strong independent and team collaboration skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and influencing skills to support customer adoption of best practices.</li></ul><h3>Pre-Employment</h3><ul><li>Reference</li><li>Medical Questionnaire</li><li>Drug and Alcohol check</li><li>5 Year Commercial Drivers Abstract</li></ul><p>This posting is for an existing vacancy within SMS Equipment.
