This role plays a key part in ensuring seamless operations by managing scheduling systems, optimizing coverage, and leading a dedicated scheduling team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused setting and takes pride in creating efficient systems that support both employees and organizational goals.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Provide leadership, guidance, and day-to-day oversight to the scheduling team.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with management to develop schedules, process leave requests, and ensure all electronic timecards are completed accurately and on time.</p></li><li><p>Ensure adherence to shift rules and collective agreement requirements, including breaks, hours of work, and time-off codes (e.g., sick, emergency, personal, bereavement).</p></li><li><p>Resolving payroll errors in timecards, troubleshooting, sound knowledge of payroll processing, scheduling, and providing accurate time card solutions and in compliance with CBA & employment standards (OPSEU 249 & ONA).</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Monitor staffing levels to ensure proper coverage; reassign staff or adjust schedules as needed to maintain operational efficiency.</p></li><li><p>Act as the primary point of contact for staff scheduling inquiries, clarifying policies and ensuring consistent application of scheduling procedures.</p></li><li><p>Identify and address scheduling challenges, recommending improvements and corrective actions to management.</p></li><li><p>Maintain and enhance the scheduling system; troubleshoot issues and liaise with software providers to resolve technical concerns.</p></li><li><p>Track attendance data, analyze trends, and prepare reports and memos related to attendance and scheduling metrics.</p></li><li><p>Support a safe, organized, and collaborative work environment.</p></li><li><p>Perform other related duties as required.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications & Skills</strong></p><ul><li><p>Community College Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p></li><li><p>Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory scheduling role; experience within a 24/7 unionized environment preferred.</p></li><li><p>Strong working knowledge of online scheduling systems and their integration with other business applications (SSC -Staff Schedule Care highly preferred).</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of CBA & employment standards (OPSEU 249 & ONA).</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Familiarity with attendance management programs and related reporting.</p></li><li><p>Understanding of employment legislation and collective agreement compliance.</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and manage sensitive information with tact and confidentiality.</p></li><li><p>Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in MS Office applications and scheduling software.</p></li><li><p>Reliable, adaptable, and able to work flexible hours as needed.</p></li><li>Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and maintenance of vaccination status as required.</li></ul><p></p><p>Why Apply?</p><p>This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a dynamic, people-focused environment.
