<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Term of App't:</strong> Temporary, Part Time (8 hours per week) until April 30, 2026</p><p><strong>Start date: </strong>November 2025</p><p><strong>Reporting to: </strong> Associate Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs</p><p><strong>Salary:</strong></p><p>$47.83 – 56.75 per hour depending on experience and qualifications in accordance with the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Applicable wage increases occur every 1,305 work hours.</p><p>The successful candidate will have the option to enroll in the College Pension Plan, with employer-matched contributions. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay. The period between Christmas and New Year's Day is unpaid time.</p><p></p><p><strong>Description:</strong></p><p>NLC's Career and College Preparation program is seeking an instructor to deliver study blocks at the Fort St. John Campus. The courses will cover the Adult Basic Education curriculum for Grades 8 – 11.</p><p></p><p>The weekly class schedule is Monday to Thursday, 1:45 – 2:45 pm, with the balance of the hours dedicated to other instructional and program-related duties.</p><p></p><p><strong>Qualifications: </strong></p><p><em>Required:</em></p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Education or related discipline).</li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team.</li><li>Intermediate proficiency with a current version of Microsoft Office.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to student motivation and success.</li><li>Valid Class 7 driver's license.</li></ul><p></p><p><em>An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.</em></p><p><em>Preferred:</em></p><ul><li>Credential in Adult Education, such as the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (completed or in progress).</li><li>Experience teaching culturally diverse groups of students, including Indigenous and international students.</li><li>Instructional experience at the secondary or post-secondary level.</li></ul><p></p><p>We thank all applicants for their interest in employment with NLC, however; only those contacted for an interview will be acknowledged.
