<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong>:<br />Part Time-all shifts</p><ul><li>Provide care services to residents in accordance with established care plans.</li><li>Assist in the admission and discharge of residents as required.</li><li>Collect charts, records, and reports.</li><li>Clean, sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.</li><li><span >Administer/assist/observe</span> medications and treatments for each resident using the medication administration record (MAR).</li><li>Assist with monthly blood pressures and weigh-ins as required.</li><li>Restocks the medication cart after all medication passes.</li><li>Respond to <span >medical/physical/emotional</span> needs with collaboration from Health and Wellness Manager/Care Coordinator.</li><li>Observe and report any resident changes in condition.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality of all residents.</li><li>Help residents maintain independence, promote dignity and physical safety of each resident.</li><li>Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring and adaptive aids.</li><li>Respond to resident concerns by answering to call bells.</li><li>Notify the Director of Care of any resident and/or family concerns.</li><li>Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents utilizing infection control principles.</li><li>Practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire safety procedures including. extinguishers (as applicable) DSDs (Safety Data Sheets) and Lockout Tag out procedures.</li><li>Report all <span >accidents/incidents</span> immediately.</li><li>Reports all unsafe and hazardous <span >conditions/equipment</span> immediately.</li><li>Perform housekeeping and cleaning support, as required.</li><li>Communicate effectively with staff, residents, families and visitors.</li><li>Work cooperatively with team members.</li><li>Uphold and promote Applefest&#39;s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in our Code of Conduct.</li><li>Assist with any other duties as directed by the Director of Care.<br><br></li></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Proof of two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series approved by Health Canada.</li><li>Current First Aid and CPR certification.</li><li>Post-secondary education in related fields: PSW/HCA/DSW certification or relevant professional experience is an asset.</li><li>Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents.</li><li>Ability to model warm, caring, and empathetic communication when connecting with residents, families and peers.</li><li>Ability to pick up shifts last minute and be flexible.</li><li>Excellent attendance and punctuality.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.</li><li>Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.</li><li>Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.</li><li>LTC experience is considered an asset.<br><br></li></ul><p><strong>Covid-19 Considerations:</strong></p><ul><li>Remote interview process.</li><li>Personal protective equipment provided or required.</li><li>Social distancing guidelines in place.</li><li>Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><strong>Job Types</strong>: Part-time, Casual.<br><br></p><p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p><ul><li>On-site parking.</li><li>Medical Plan after confirmation.</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Schedule:</strong></p><ul><li>8-hour shift.</li><li>Evening shift.</li><li>Holidays.</li><li>Night shift.</li><li>Weekend availability.</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Supplemental pay types:</strong></p><ul><li>Overtime pay.</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Application question(s):</strong></p><ul><li>Do you have experience in Retirement homes?</li><li>Are you a certified PSW?</li><li>Do you have valid Unregulated Care Provider (UCP) <span >training/certification?</span></li></ul><p><br /><strong><span >License/Certification:</span></strong></p><ul><li>PSW <span >certificate/diploma.</span> (required)</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Shift availability:</strong></p><ul><li>Night Shift (preferred).</li><li>Overnight Shift (required).</li><li>Day Shift (required).</li></ul></p></p>
