<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>*** You MUST be able to relocate to Fort McMurray, AB for this position - this is a local position ***<br />*** Relocation & Housing Assistance is Provided ***</strong></p><p><strong>Job Summary</strong><br />The Tower Service Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of communications equipment on various tower sites. This includes climbing towers up to 500ft and installing associated hardware at height such as antennas, brackets, cabling, and connectors.</p><p>This is a multi-skilled position — we are specifically looking for technicians who bring additional expertise in networking, structured cabling, and/or radio systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting wireless infrastructure, data communications, and telecom services across a range of environments.<strong></strong></p><p><strong>Required Work Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum 3 years of experience in tower and/or telecommunications work</li><li>Installation and service of PTP and PTMP wireless systems</li><li>Installation and testing of structured cabling (Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A, Fiber Optic)</li><li>Programming and diagnostics of radio communications systems</li><li>Proficient with test equipment such as multimeters, watt meters, antenna diagnostics tools, and DTF</li><li>Experience with tower climbing, rigging systems, and fall protection procedures</li><li>Ability to read and interpret telecommunication drawings and engineering documentation</li><li>Site surveys and tower inspections</li><li>Towing and deploying portable towers and trailers</li></ul><p><strong>Must Haves:</strong></p><ul><li>Safety First Mindset</li><li>Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License or equivalent</li><li>Recent 5-year Driver’s Abstract (required upon hire as a condition of employment)</li><li>Aerial Work Platform and Fall Protection (OSSA accredited)</li><li>Tower Climbing and Rescue certificate (asset)</li><li>Confined Space Entry Training (asset)</li><li>Strong communication skills — written and verbal</li><li>Ability to work safely at heights and in hazardous environments</li><li>Excellent customer service and client-facing skills</li><li>Experience with hand and power tools, testing equipment, and installation materials</li><li>Knowledge of telecom networking requirements and standards</li><li>Team player with strong problem-solving abilities</li></ul><p><strong>Tridon Offers:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive Wages</li><li>Company paid benefits</li><li>2.5% Company RRSP Matching</li><li>Additional paid days off for Years of Service</li><li>On-the-job training</li><li>Manufacturer provided training</li><li>Opportunity to advance and grow within a rapidly growing Company</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p><ul><li>Frequent climbing of towers (up to 500ft)</li><li>Stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods</li><li>Carrying equipment weighing up to 50 lbs</li><li>Working at heights, including ladders, man lifts, and tower structures</li><li>Carrying tools and rigging while climbing</li></ul><p><strong>About Us:</strong></p><p>Tridon Communications is a full solution Telecom Systems Integrator with CSA certification and licensed by APEGA.
