Our commitment to excellence drives us to produce advanced and reliable automation solutions.</p><h3>Role</h3><p>Reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer will be working with a team of professional, dynamic, and talented designers. Must possess a thorough knowledge and working background in automation manufacturing, with excellent design and communication skills. Depending on the project, you will be working in a team or independently. You should be well organized, detail-oriented, a self-starter, a self-motivator, a team player, and able to resolve issues, as well as manage time and prepare documents accurately.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Mechanical Design of large and technically complex automation equipment</li><li>Actuator, Motor and Servo sizing</li><li>Pneumatic circuit design and calculations</li><li>Simulations</li><li>Specific knowledge in the automation of press automation (Feeders, Transfer Systems, Tooling etc.) is an asset</li><li>Delegate duties and coordinate the design process for a team of internal designers and external contractors as required</li><li>Communicate project concerns, project status, and design solutions with management, fellow staff, and clients</li><li>In coordination with Project Management, participate in presentations of the design to the client, and acquire client signoff on the design concept to proceed with detailing and manufacturing</li><li>Work cooperatively with clients, fellow employees, contractors, management, and suppliers</li><li>Create and maintain efficiency in the design process</li><li>Collaborate with other team members, such as the electrical designer and the mechanical assembler/developer during all stages of machine design/build</li><li>Create mechanical designs that are economical to produce, easy to assemble and simply maintained</li><li>Assist other designers with the mechanical design of larger systems</li><li>Review all required part drawings and machine build drawings (drafting) as required</li><li>Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) for both purchased parts and raw manufactured materials as required</li><li>Manage assigned tasks in a neat and timely fashion while aiming to meet budgeted hours</li></ul><h3>Qualifications and Education Requirements</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience</li><li>Proficiency with computer software programs: Microsoft products, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Ansys, Inventor</li><li>Ability to perform FEA</li><li>Ability to size components, motors, servos, etc.</li><li>Automation experience preferred</li><li>Strong organizational and communication skills</li><li>Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines</li><li>Design experience with 2D & 3D CAD design is an asset</li><li>Experience in robotic simulation and robotic solutions</li><li>Uses logic and reasoning to offer solutions to problems</li></ul><h3>Job Details</h3><ul><li>Job Type: Full-time</li><li>Ability to commute/relocate: Barrie, ON L4N 6E5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)</li></ul><h3>Education</h3><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree (preferred)</li></ul><h3>Seniority level</h3><ul><li>Mid-Senior level</li></ul><h3>Employment type</h3><ul><li>Full-time</li></ul><h3>Job function</h3><ul><li>Engineering and Information Technology</li></ul><h3>Industries</h3><ul><li>Automation Machinery Manufacturing</li></ul><p>Note: This description reflects the responsibilities and qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer role in the context of Linear Transfer Automation Inc.
