To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com.</p><h3>What You’ll Be Doing</h3><p>As the Senior Consultant, Data Risk and Reporting, you will play a pivotal role in building strong relationships within the Chief Data Office and across Strategic Business Units and Functional Groups. Your efforts will support the expansion and evolution of enterprise data risk reporting and insights. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of data risk metrics, including defining calculation details, articulating the intent and rationale for inclusion, identifying thresholds, and designing visual presentations for reporting. This encompasses the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to monitor the ongoing adoption and effectiveness of data policies, standards, procedures, controls, and data risk identification and mitigation outcomes. Additionally, you will lead the technical implementation of metrics using tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, and other visualization and ETL platforms, building dashboards, automating data flows, and integrating metrics into enterprise reporting solutions.</p><p>You will oversee the Business As Usual (BAU) reporting of metrics and insights to executive audiences, including the Executive Data Councils and the CIBC Board. Your responsibilities will also include developing and triggering oversight processes in the event of metric breaches or threshold exceptions, ensuring timely escalation and response. Periodic reviews of the relevance and effectiveness of metrics and their thresholds will be required to ensure KPIs and KRIs remain aligned with evolving business needs and regulatory requirements. Collaboration with stakeholders across Business Units, within the Chief Data Office, and with Enterprise Technology partners will be essential to develop, implement, and manage these metrics and support the creation of automated reporting solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and/or statistics, as well as experience in metrics creation, implementation, reporting, and management, including generating insights for Senior Leadership.</p><p>Details on work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.</p><h3>How You’ll Succeed</h3><ul><li>Quantitative Analysis - strong mathematical and statistical knowledge to identify new metrics, define calculations, articulate intent, identify thresholds, and design effective reporting visuals.</li><li>Metrics Development & Implementation - proactively develop and implement metrics communicating the data risk landscape; build, automate, and visualize metrics using Power BI, Power Automate, and other ETL/visualization platforms.</li><li>Metric Reporting & Management - oversee ongoing reporting to executive stakeholders, with timely escalation when thresholds are breached; periodically review and refine metrics and thresholds for ongoing relevance and regulatory alignment.</li><li>Effective Communication - excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills to secure stakeholder support.</li><li>Business Acumen - strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Management, and Data Risk Management to inform recommendations and drive outcomes.</li><li>Relationship Management - build relationships within the Data Community across CIBC to facilitate understanding and collaboration.</li><li>Planning and Organization - manage tasks and priorities to ensure timely, accurate delivery of commitments.</li></ul><h3>Who You Are</h3><ul><li>Experienced Data Analyst with a track record in data analysis methodologies, metric development, implementation, reporting, and management.</li><li>Data Tools Proficiency - 8+ years with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau; skilled in developing, automating, and visualizing metrics and communicating insights clearly.</li><li>Metrics Innovator - capable of identifying necessary data elements and creating frameworks for data collection to address business needs.</li><li>Compelling Storyteller - able to translate data into actionable business narratives.</li><li>Insightful Investigator - curious and skilled at translating complex information into meaningful insights.</li><li>Effective Facilitator - lead productive meetings with councils and cross-functional groups.</li><li>Team-Oriented Leader - collaborative; fosters an inclusive environment.</li><li>Ownership Mindset - proactive, taking initiative and leading projects.</li><li>Values-driven - aligns with trust, teamwork, and accountability.</li></ul><h3>What CIBC Offers</h3><ul><li>Competitive compensation and benefits package, defined benefit pension plan, employee share purchase plan, vacation, wellbeing support, and recognition programs.</li><li>Collaborative environment with a modern tech toolkit to deliver innovative client solutions.</li><li>Opportunity to grow through initiatives like Purpose Day, a paid day off for growth and development.</li></ul><h3>What You Need To Know</h3><ul><li>CIBC is committed to inclusion and accessibility.
