<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><p><strong>Position</strong><strong>: Registered Nurse </strong></p><p><strong>Competition</strong><strong>: 2025-263</strong></p><p><strong>Status</strong><strong>: Full-Time</strong></p><p><strong>Department</strong><strong>: Women & Child / Surgical Unit </strong></p><p><strong>UNION: ONA</strong></p><p><strong>SALARY:$39.07-$56.00/Hour </strong></p><p><strong>Position Summary</strong><strong>: </strong></p><p>Under the supervision of the Department Manager, coordination of the Team Lead, and working as a member of the unit team, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of quality nursing care to a patient or group of patients. The provision of such nursing care is expected to be within the Standards of Nursing Practice (CNO) and the standards of the nursing unit.</p><p>The Registered Nurse is expected to maintain competence and skills through on-going participation in continuing education and will be able to demonstrate proof of such participation. The Registered Nurse actively participates in CNO Quality Assurance Program.</p><p>Participates in service and hospital-wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe and healthy patient-centered environment and that contribute to quality improvement and risk.</p><p><strong>Requirements</strong><strong>:</strong></p><p><strong>Education and Relevant Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Registered Nurse (BScN) and current member in good standing of the Ontario College of Nurses of Ontario.</li><li>2 years of Caseroom and post-partum experience required</li><li>Minimum Medical/Surgical Nursing experience required.</li><li>IV and BCLS certification required and maintained throughout employment</li><li>Previous obstetrical experience in labor and delivery unit, experience in Newborn Nursery</li><li>Case Room Training required & have recent birthing RN experience within last 12 months</li><li>Current F.H.S.L., N.R.P. and B.C.L.S and maintained throughout employment</li><li>ACLS certification preferred</li><li>Computer literacy mandatory</li><li>Teaching experience would be an asset</li><li>Successful completion of an approved Medications Administration Course consistent with the Standard of the College of Nurses of Ontario. Able to demonstrate recent experience in the administration of medications.</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge and Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated competence in nursing practice as a Registered Nurse</li><li>Able to work a variety of shifts and to be on call as required</li><li>Excellent demonstrated medical-surgical patient teaching skills</li><li>Demonstrated Medical-Surgical Nursing knowledge</li><li>Strong interpersonal, assessment and organizational skills </li><li>Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, and ability to prioritize</li><li>Demonstrated customer service focus and ability to relate in a tactful and sensitive manner with staff, patients, and the public</li><li>Ability to organize work tasks and function both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team</li><li>Demonstrated ability to read, understand and follow written instructions</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Ability to accept direction and feedback</li><li>Competence in computers and other job-related technology</li><li>Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis is required</li><li>Demonstrated competence in the administration of medication</li><li>Good attendance and availability required</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p></p></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
