<p><strong>About our Client</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Our client is an engineering-focused solution provider of machined castings, fabrications, and assemblies. They are seeking an experienced and results-driven Materials Manager to lead their materials planning, procurement, and inventory control functions in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring the continuous and cost-effective flow of materials required for production while maintaining quality and just-in-time delivery standards.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Strategic Materials Planning:</strong></p><p> Develop and implement effective material strategies to support production schedules, minimize inventory costs, and ensure timely availability of components.</p><p><strong>Inventory Management:</strong></p><p> Oversee inventory accuracy, levels, and turnover through robust cycle counting and lean material management techniques.</p><p><strong>Procurement & Vendor Management:</strong></p><p> Collaborate with purchasing teams and suppliers to manage lead times, costs, and delivery performance. Identify opportunities for cost savings and value-added partnerships.</p><p><strong>Production Scheduling Support:</strong></p><p> Work closely with production planning and operations teams to align material availability with manufacturing schedules.</p><p><strong>ERP & MRP Systems Oversight:</strong></p><p> Manage and optimize ERP/MRP systems for materials planning, tracking, and reporting accuracy.</p><p><strong>Cross-Functional Leadership:</strong></p><p> Lead a team of material planners, inventory analysts, and logistics coordinators. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.</p><p><strong>Continuous Improvement & Compliance:</strong></p><p> Drive initiatives to improve material flow, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency. Ensure compliance with all quality and environmental standards, including IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)</li><li>5–7+ years of experience in materials or supply chain management, preferably within the automotive or tier-1 manufacturing sector</li><li>Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, Just-In-Time (JIT), and Six Sigma methodologies</li><li>Proficient with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex) and Microsoft Office Suite</li><li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills</li><li>Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities in a unionized or high-volume production environment</li></ul><p><br></p><p> </p><p><strong>What to Offer</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Competitive base salary based on experience</li><li>Medical and Dental Benefits + paid for programs</li><li>RRSP Matching</li><li>Paid vacation</li></ul><p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
