<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Greet patients, collect required information, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure test protocol adherence.</li>
<li>Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.</li>
<li>Perform special test collections (e.g., medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, clinical trials) and complete related documentation.</li>
<li>Maintain client relationships by responding to inquiries and following up on requests.</li>
<li>Enter required patient demographics, requisition information, and other data related to processing test results.</li>
<li>Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.</li>
</ul>
<h3>What You Will Bring To The Role</h3>
<ul>
<li>Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent are preferred.</li>
<li>Phlebotomy experience is an asset.</li>
<li>ECG training or experience is an asset.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills.</li>
<li>Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.</li>
<li>Strong customer/patient service with the ability to relate to patients and clients even in stressful situations.</li>
<li>Strong empathy, flexibility, adaptability to change, and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Position Details</h3>
<ul>
<li>Status: Part Time Float</li>
<li>Schedule: Part-time float position covering Guelph and Fergus; hours vary from 6:45 am to 5:45 pm with rotating Saturday shifts. Locations and hours vary by operational needs.</li>
<li>Additional Requirements: Flexible schedule is required.</li>
<li>Number of positions: 1</li>
