<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>POSITION: KITCHEN PREP/SERVER</strong></p><p><strong>HOUR OF WORK: ON-CALL, CASUAL (potential for up to 25 hours per week)</strong></p><p><strong>REPORTS TO: KITCHEN SERVICES MANAGER</strong></p><p><strong>WAGE: $20 per hour</strong></p><p><strong></strong><strong>PROGRAM</strong></p><p>SȾÁUTW̱ Centralized Food Services Department provides for all internal and external catering services. </p><p><strong>PURPOSE OF THE POSITION</strong></p><p>The Kitchen Prep/Server assists with preparing, serving and cleaning for all catering services through SȾÁUTW̱. </p><p><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>Check daily BEO’s & make sure all areas are set up for events, deliveries and future events</li><li>Go over daily BEO’s with the FOH (servers) on schedule, then brief meeting for the whole week events.</li><li>Make a list of prep the needs to be done by the team on their shift.</li><li>Wash & fold linen. (iron or steam)</li><li>Cutlery polished and rolled</li><li>Collect plateware for every event-plates, coffee cups, cutlery, water glasses, side plates.</li><li>All dishes should be scraped of food & brought to the dish area.</li><li>Help the dishwasher with the dishes when needed.</li><li>Coffee urns & tea should be washed & cleaned for the next event.</li><li>Prep for the next event.</li></ul><p><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p><ul><li>Grade 12 graduation (Dogwood or BC Adult Graduation Diploma);</li><li>Food Safe Handling Course is required ;</li><li>Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a kitchen; or</li><li>An equivalent combination of education and experience;</li><li>Valid BC drivers license, reliable vehicle and clean drivers abstract an asset;</li><li>Clean criminal record check required. </li></ul><p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS</strong></p><p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p><ul><li>Extended periods of standing;</li><li>Lifting (approximately 25 lbs);</li><li>Bending or stooping;</li><li>Potential for conflict from TFN members and training participants;</li><li>Will be required to attend meetings and community events outside of normal office hours.</li></ul><p><strong>OTHER FACTORS</strong></p><p><strong>Culture/Language</strong></p><p>Respect for and working knowledge of the W̱SÁNEĆ culture is required.</p><p><strong>Personal Attributes</strong></p><p>The Kitchen Prep/Server maintains strict confidentiality in performing their duties and demonstrates the following personal attributes: Respect, Empathy, Strength, Pride and Equality</p><p>Preference may be given to qualified individuals of First Nation Ancestry.</p><p>Apply now and join our team!</p></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
