The role blends dynamic facilitation with program coordination and community engagement, connecting youth to real-world career insights. A strong interest or background in career development, experiential learning, or workforce education is highly valued.</p><p><br /></p><p>Learn more about Ontario Career Lab <span >atwww.ontariocareerlab.ca</span><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Job Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities</p><p><br /></p><ul><li>Facilitation and Program Delivery<ul><li>Deliver engaging opening and closing presentations that inspire students and set the tone for career exploration sessions.</li><li>Manage event flow, transitions, and timing while maintaining high energy and professionalism.</li><li>Adapt facilitation style to suit diverse audiences and learning environments.</li><li>Support student engagement throughout sessions and ensure alignment with program objectives.</li><li>Represent HIEC and Ontario Career Lab as an enthusiastic, credible, and professional facilitator.</li></ul></li></ul><p><br /></p><ul><li>Program Coordination and Logistics<ul><li>Serve as the on-site lead for each event, overseeing setup, materials, and volunteer orientation.</li><li>Conduct pre-session briefings with Career Coaches to review structure, expectations, and key messages.</li><li>Coordinate logistics with teachers and administrators, ensuring clarity on schedules, groupings, and accessibility needs.</li><li>Manage event materials, including distributing and collecting resources and ensuring readiness of technology and supplies.</li></ul></li></ul><p><br /></p><ul><li>Stakeholder Engagement<ul><li>Build strong relationships with educators, students, volunteers, and community partners.</li><li>Support recruitment of Career Coaches by connecting with local employers, associations, and industry organizations.</li><li>Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, addressing on-site questions and resolving challenges as they arise.</li><li>Collaborate with partner organizations to enhance the reach and impact of Ontario Career Lab programming.</li></ul></li></ul><p><br /></p><ul><li>Evaluation and Reporting<ul><li>Administer and collect post-session evaluations from students and Career Coaches.</li><li>Ensure compliance with data privacy and security protocols when handling program information.</li><li>Document session outcomes and submit concise reports to the Program Management Team.</li><li>Share insights and success metrics that help strengthen overall program delivery.</li></ul></li></ul><p><br /></p><ul><li>Continuous Improvement<ul><li>Identify opportunities to enhance facilitation techniques and student engagement strategies.</li><li>Contribute creative ideas to improve logistics, volunteer experiences, and program impact.</li><li>Support knowledge-sharing across the facilitation team to ensure consistency and excellence.</li></ul></li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Qualifications to Succeed:</p><ul><li>Minimum: high school diploma; post-secondary education in education, communications, or social sciences is an asset.</li><li>35 years experience in facilitation, training delivery, or program coordination.</li><li>Familiarity with Northern Ontario communities, geography, and cultural context is highly valued.</li><li>Experience working with youth or in educational settings is a strong asset.</li><li>Experience in career coaching, employment counselling, or workforce development is a strong asset.</li><li>Proficiency in digital tools for coordination, reporting, and communication.</li><li>Fluency in French (written and spoken) is an asset.</li><li>ASL/FSL is an asset.</li><li>Experience facilitating both virtual and in-person sessions.<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Key Competencies</p><ul><li>Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills with confidence speaking to large groups.</li><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to adapt to changing environments.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.</li><li>Initiative and problem-solving skills to manage logistical challenges.</li><li>Collaborative, positive, and team-oriented approach.</li><li>Interested in working for a not-for-profit organization.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Working Conditions</p><ul><li>Remote position based in Northern Ontario; travel required throughout the region to school and community sites (Main office is in Burlington, ON)</li><li>Frequent travel across Ontario to school locations.</li><li>Valid Ontario drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle required.</li><li>Early mornings and flexible scheduling based on school needs.</li><li>Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) is required.<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><p>We thank everyone who submits an application for their interest!
