Our growing specialty chemical company, operating across multiple international jurisdictions, is seeking a <strong>Senior Accountant </strong>with leadership capacity.</p><p>This is more than a traditional Accountant role. You will be the financial steward of a dynamic, international business, serving not only core manufacturing operations but also a portfolio of family-owned holding companies. Implement best-in-class practices for financial transparency and decision support.</p></li><li><p><strong>Purposeful Work</strong>: Play a central role in sustainable operations, innovation, and global expansion.</p></li></ul><hr /><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><strong>Financial Leadership & Reporting</strong><ul><li><p>Own the full cycle of internal accounting functions, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and actionable insights.</p></li><li><p>Deliver monthly financial packages, including income statements, cash flow reports, and balance sheets to executive leadership.</p></li><li><p>Prepare detailed corporate metrics and KPIs that align with sales, production, and growth targets.</p></li><li><p>Lead the preparation and presentation of financials for year-end audits and strategic planning sessions.</p></li></ul><strong>Strategic Finance & Business Support</strong><ul><li><p>Partner with the Sales, Manufacturing teams to provide data-driven insights that enhance product costing, pricing strategies, and material sourcing decisions.</p></li><li><p>Deliver proactive financial analysis to support regional sales strategy and operational alignment.</p></li><li><p>Design and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.</p></li></ul><strong>Governance, Compliance & Tax</strong><ul><li><p>Develop and maintain financial controls, audit trails, and risk management policies.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities in Canada, the US, and the EU.</p></li><li><p>Lead corporate tax compliance and manage relationships with external accounting and audit firms.</p></li></ul><strong>Banking & Treasury</strong><ul><li><p>Manage all banking relationships, including cash management, credit facilities, and treasury operations.</p></li><li><p>Ensure optimal liquidity while supporting strategic capital investment decisions.</p></li></ul><hr /><hr /><strong>What You Bring</strong><ul><li><p>CPA designation.</p></li><li><p>5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing, chemicals, or multi-entity environments.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated ability to move beyond transactional work to deliver strategic financial leadership.</p></li><li><p>Proven ability to lead systems implementation, process improvement, and financial transformation.</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of Canadian, U.S., and EU accounting standards, tax regulations, and cross-border financial reporting.</p></li><li><p>Experience supporting sales, operations, or R&D is a strong asset.</p></li></ul><hr /><strong>Core Competencies</strong><ul><li><p>Financial Acumen & Strategic Insight</p></li><li><p>Executive-Level Communication</p></li><li><p>Decision-Making & Business Judgment</p></li><li><p>Accountability & Ownership</p></li><li><p>Operational Alignment & Cross-Functional Collaboration</p></li><li><p>Continuous Learning & Adaptability</p></li><li><p>Strong Ethical Compass & Transparency</p></li></ul><hr /><p>This role is ideal for a Senior Accountant seeking a seat at the strategic table.
